Update on the interior

I  have been adding to our furnishings for the Double Wide in Vail AZ. My favorite stores are Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity with occasional visits to other thrift stores for treasure hunts. Here are some photos of the house’s new belongings.

I have figured out what my style is and it is Grandma’s Attic. Here in Arizona and maybe other places lots of older people live here and from time to time they have to down size or they leave us and their possessions are not wanted or needed by their family and friends so it goes to charity and that is where I get the majority of my furnishings.

The armoire for the TV was the hardest/heaviest thing to get into the house it cost $59.00, side tables were $20.00 each lamps were about $15.00 each. One has to act quick at these stores if you want something get your name on it right away or it is gone! Most of the wall decorations I got on sale too. I try to be frugal and get value for my money. It is surprising what can be found in Goodwill or thrift stores. I call it a treasure hunt 😀

  1. I remember starting to read your blog and this desk top went belly up, then my laptop went belly up and I lost you. You have made lots of progress on your home. It looks wonderful. Hope you back problem is getting better or better yet all better.

    • The back still give me problems now and then the recovery has been slow. I just have to be cautious about lifting things. My sister is living at the house now and she is a great help with the landscaping. She is a hard worker and does a great job. Soon we will post new photos of the outside of the house and the improvements of the hard work she has done.
